Standard scanning and supported cleaning happen in your browser. CheckBefore does not need to upload your original document or photo to perform that local workflow.

What we do not collect from your file

We do not record file contents, file names, document text, sheet names, author names, customer names, company names, image pixels, or URLs contained in your files.

Product data we use

We collect limited operational data such as an anonymous browser identifier, file type, risk count, page, scan duration, success or failure, and feedback choices or optional feedback text. We use this data to provide allowances, prevent abuse, improve reliability, and understand which product flows need attention. We do not store original file data or raw IP addresses; network and email signals used for abuse prevention are hashed.

Accounts, payments, and service providers

Supabase processes authentication emails and sessions. Paddle processes Lifetime Pro payments and refund requests. Vercel hosts and deploys the application. Sentry receives application error reports. PostHog receives allowlisted structural analytics only when configured. Supabase may use Resend as the configured email delivery provider. These providers may process data in countries outside your own.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use an HttpOnly device cookie and local browser storage for anonymous allowance continuity and abuse prevention. Essential cookies support the service; optional analytics runs only when configured. You can clear browser storage, but server-side allowance controls may still apply.

Retention and your choices

Account, purchase, entitlement, security, event, error, and feedback records are retained only while needed to provide the service, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, improve reliability, or meet legal obligations. You may request access, correction, deletion, or information about processing by emailing support@checkbeforeai.com. We will respond subject to identity verification, legal retention duties, and the limits of data that cannot be linked back to you.

Limits

Local processing applies to the standard scanner workflow described here. CheckBefore does not claim to inspect every part of every file or to guarantee that a file is safe to share.

Updates

This policy is effective September 8, 2026. We may update it when the service, providers, or legal obligations change. The current version will remain available on this page.
